Wadding Offcuts

Keep your wadding offcuts for smaller projects like wall hangings or cot quilts.

Join them together to make a piece for larger projects.

Very small pieces of wadding can be saved and used for stuffing dolls and toys, to give them that antique traditional effect.

“I had been machine quilting for friends and myself for a few years, and after seeing a need for more machine quilting services in the area, decided to offer my services to the wider community. I did this by starting Flying Needles.”

Flying Needles uses a Gammill Classic plus Long Arm Quilting Machine, on a 12 foot table. Allowing even the larger quilts to be worked on with ease.

“I endeavour to provide the very best in edge-to-edge, unique and unusual quilting patterns and to also increase my skill as a machine quilter to ensure that I can offer my clients the very best service I can.”

"I like to see the quilt top and let it speak to me as each quilt has its own unique character. The quilt may have been designed for a particular person, special moment in some ones life or a specific purpose, so the quilting needs to reflect this. I give each quilt its own personal treatment, and I confer with the client to ensure the quilt's history is reflected in the quilting design. This is a philosophy I uphold with every quilt."

“Flying Needles is a strong supporter of the Australian Farming Industries, and uses only Australian made wadding. Where ever possible I like to use Australian made, as supporting Australian Industry is extremely important.”

"Most Importantly, I do my very best to insure that when a client departs, they are happy, comfortable and excited about leaving their treasured quilt top with me."

Happy Quilting
